The mainland gateway to the Whitsundays, the Whitsunday Coast Airport is conveniently located just 25 minutes from Airlie Beach and is only 12 kilometres south of Proserpine. Whitsunday Coast Airport currently offers jet flights daily to Brisbane and four jet flights a week direct to Sydney, these services are provided by Virgin Blue and Jetstar.

Facilities are available for charter flights and light aircraft. Hire car and transfer services agencies including Hertz, Europcar, Avis and Thrifty; bus, coach, taxi and limousine services on an individual or share basis; and a reservations centre to book accommodation or tours in the Whitsundays.

The Whitsunday Coast Airport terminal hosts a fully licensed cafe, bar and kiosk. Automatic Teller Machine facilities and public amenities are also provided.

Christmas day: The terminal opens approximately two hours before the first scheduled flight each day or on demand in the event of charter flights.

Passengers should arrive at least 40 minutes before their flight if travelling privately or one hour if using a passenger service. Bus, coach, taxi and limousine services are available on an individual or share basis to and from nearby destinations.
